Rimli Bhattacharya, an Oceanic Humanities international partner from the University of Delhi, joined us at WiSER for the first of her team visits. She presented a talk and conducted a workshop based on a set of images, clips and resources curated specifically for the OHGS students. These included oceanic cultural material from India, particularly the Bay of Bengal. She focused on the visual art of Lavanya Mani, and films by Ritwik Ghatak (A River Called Titash, 1973) and Kumar Shahani (Bhavantarana, 1991 and Bamboo Flute, 2000).
